A piece of advice...own some cast iron. Start with a 10" skillet. If you have older relatives with some, beg! The older stuff is better, I believe, because the sand used in the casting was finer and created a smoother surface to begin with.

Cast iron Japanese tetsubin-style teapot with plum ornament (made in China). Probably ornament is not that fine as on original Japanese teapots, but the price was much lower. I am quite happy with it as a teapot.
