-// Sgt. McGregor - 2994 //-

Pvt. Khydo set up with his sniper rifle upon the roof of a warehouse not far from the platform we had crashed on.

The downside to these hiveworlds is that the layers never really end. There are platforms that allow people to walk, and buildings to be built in a manner that appears to be on "the ground" but the city continues miles below and above, with platforms every 10-15 stories to give the illusion on not being in a crowded hive world. Holopanels on the bottoms faked sky, and turf was implanted on the top to make it look earthy. Even weeds were imported to grow in cracks, just to help people feel more comfortable. It was after the psychological issues of the first hiveworld that it was decided the human mind was too fragile for a machine-like world that was a hive planet. It needed to be tricked, even if its a poor and easily seen through trick, to ease their subconscious and prevent insanity.
Colors were carefully chosen to balance and bring piece to the mind. Residential districts had lots of plants in pots and alcoves, with green color schemes to the entire compounds. Yellow was used not just on warning stripes, but also strategically placed lines at doors and throughout the city to comfort the eyes. Blue was used much on the ground paint for traffic, and indoors it was the most prominent. Red and Orange were used minimally, but still placed here and there for balance. This all made them somewhat pleasant normally.
But now after so much war, most color had faded, or had been covered in enough graffiti that what placed color remained it just seemed sick mockery of life. Blue brought out the blood, the green made everything sick and dying, the smell of corpses didn't help either.

The COMM snapped and popped with static.
"--McGregor--....--Do y--ead?"
It was Sophie.
I will not lie that my heart didn't jolt inside me.
"This is McGregor, your signal is rough, I can't make you out."
"This is McGregor, Do you read me Sophie?"
"--w--east on--"
I lost the signal.
"Damn it!"
"Is problem?" Khydo called over the COMM
I had left my COMM open when I swore.
"I lost the signal, did you get a read on its position?"
"Affirmative, coordinates are had."
Coordinates are what?
"Uh, so you know where they are?"
"Yes Sir. Sending now."
I looked at the numbers the flickered in my HUD, then started sprinting down the road.
I moved down three blocks before Kyhdo opened COMM again.
"Sir, DOWN GET!"
I dropped hard and looked up to see...
What spawn of hell is this?
It looked like something between a massive lobster and a spider. But as unnervingly alive and biological as it looked, it was made from metal and was some sort of machine. It had roughly ten or so optical lenses of different types and sizes- all focused on me.
It raised its two bulky forward legs, the one on the right had the black smeared appearance of what could only be a flamethrower.
The left had what seemed to be an extremely high caliber machine gun. It was a block down, crawling around the corner. To far for its flamer, thankfully, but not for its cannon.
It started firing, I took cover behind some rubble and fired rounds off.
No effect, they pinged off the metal shell.
"Khydo! your rifle has armor piercing, right? Take it out."
I heard his shot echo, followed by another ping.
"No luck sir."
"See any weakness at all?"
"Negative, only an emblem."
"Patch your VisCam through."
It was the EC logo...
Of course, that is why there were so focused here. This is where IWA tested things, surely other projects where here.
They came to salvage the cutting edge prototypes and build themselves a more powerful arsenal.
It came crawling after me, I did my best to run and not get hit but the machine was too fast. Its massive spiderlike legs moved quick and soon I felt the heat or flames as it drew close.
I closed my eyes after one particularly close blast, my vision filled with red light.
Then there was a flash of blue and everything went quiet.

I slowly peeled my eyes open.
My ears range from an explosion, and my head felt like it had been blown clean off.
"Sir, we must go now, time not for waiting."
Pvt Khydo stood over me, his sniper rifle slung over his shoulder and hefting a T'Skavvi weapon of some sort.
"It can stop bullet, yes. But it cannot stop T'Skavvi weapons."
Of course, the T'Skavvi energy based munitions.
Khydo handed the gun to me.
"I have brought for backup, but I am thinking you need more. I will snipe, you will shoot K'gragtah."
K'gragtah? My transla

Piercings are the new "tie dye shirts".
Parents hate them. Youth love them.

Bellybutton piercings are anything but a sign of rebellion. Wtf POPSTARS have bellybutton piercings...why would you get one to be rebellious if popstars have them!?!? XD
The whole "getting pierced to be rebellious" is a load of shit in my opinion.
I get pierced because I like what piercings look like. I don't have a reason to rebel against my mom. Its not like they piss her off.

Piercings are not dirty. Mine are very clean. They are not dangerous though sometimes the ignorant media tells you so. They do not hurt. If my piercings hurt I would take them out. Yeah they hurt the second you get pierced but if you keep them clean they don't hurt at all. Once they are healed, you can move them around and you can't feel any pain or pressure.

Conservative cultures/media/family has taught you that piercings are bad and rebellious and ugly. That's fine if you think they are ugly but don't tell me about it. Keep it to yourself. Some old lady had the fucking nerve to tell my little brother that I'm ugly because of my piercings.

I have a lipring, a couple holes in my ear and a bellybutton piercing. I used to have an eyebrow piercing. I'm only allowed to get pierced once a year. Lol. I like how they look.

Piercings have been around for thousands of years as well as ear stretching.

Hmm...thats all I can say on the subject.
A lot of bad thoughts about piercings are because of ignorance towards piercings. So if you'd like to know things about piercings just ask me but don't be an asshole about it.
